WE ARE:  Living Tree Alliance is an educational homestead providing food for visitors, the local food bank, local schools and our cohousing community.  The farm is located on 91 acres in Vt’s beautiful Mad River Valley. The land carries our 1 acre perennial and annual crops, grazing land for chicken and sheep, a working sugarbush and an extensive community trail system. We provide regional programs embedded in Jewish spirituality and seasonal rhythm.

THE OPPORTUNITY:  We are seeking an experienced farmer and team leader to help manage our educational farm and facilitate parts of our new internship program in Fall 2020. This is a 6 month commitment of 25 hours a week, helping with farm and animal chores, supporting our educational camps, field trips and retreats, supporting our fall festival initiatives, and managing 3 interns Aug to Oct. We welcome couples or friends to split this position as we have found that our rural location is more fun when people come in groups (especially those used to a more busy social city life).

COMPENSATION:  The six month stay includes 2 months of staying in your own cozy cabin as the weather warms. After two months, you can camp for free or rent the cabin for half price $250 a month. Your stay includes full use of our outdoor community kitchen and hot showers. As well, you will receive bi weekly classes during our fall internship program on topics ranging from Jewish spirituality, food preservation, fermentation and natural building.
