Tu B’shvat Celebration - Outdoors
January 12, 2-4 pM
Deep in the winter quiet, the ever intuitive Jewish calendar brings us a celebration of possibilities and abundance in honor of The Tree of Life. Tu B'Shvat celebrates, the birthday of the trees! On the 15th of the Jewish month of Shevat, we come together: to stop, to bless, to enjoy the fruits of our beautiful earth and to recommit ourselves to actions that steward this world we share with our friends the trees.
Join us as we honor the trees, play in the snow, drink Hemlock tea, share stories, and be in the forest
We will have two programs offered:
Family program for families with young children
We will play games and share a “kid-friendly” ritual that deepens our gratitude for the land and revitalizes our commitment toward ecology. All teachings and playings will be outside in the field. Fun for young and old!
Adults and older children snow shoe in the woods
Together we will romp around the woods and engage mindfulness activities that connect us to the season and the holiday. In addition we will learn from the natural wonders around us with tree identification and tracking
Bring: sleds, and snow toys, layers, snow pants, snow shoes, x-country skis, potluck dish for dinner after event, and happy smile
Friends welcome to stay for a vegetarian potluck at Sephirah and Craig’s house - please RSVP
