Shavuot on the Mountain Hike
Sunday, June 5, 9:45 am
Mt Mansfield, Stowe Resort
The Mountain Chapel on Mount Mansfield is an inspiring place to gather to celebrate this holiday of first fruits and receiving the Torah. Join us as we hike up to the Mountain Chapel through Stowe Resort. Together we will find the first fruits of Vermont (i.e. spring wildflowers like trout lilies and trilium), enjoy community, contemplation and the beauty of nature as we make our way to the Chapel. Once at the Chapel we will have a Bikkurim (first fruits) parade, Torah experience, crafts and songs for all ages.
Arrive at 9:45 am: Hike departs promptly at 10:15 am Meet outside the Mansfield Lodge at Stowe Resort, where we will prepare to hike to the Mountain Chapel together… At the Mountain Chapel, we share in a Bikkurim (first fruits) parade, Torah experience, songs and have a picnic lunch (provided!) 1.5 mile one way moderate hike but accessible for kids and families. The Toll Road is open to drive! Meet us there at that chapel at noon for picnic, parade, and torah festivities. Register so we can get the toll road fees waived for you and have enough food for everyone.
What to Bring: Filled Water bottles, back pack, bug repellant, Rain Gear, hat, sunscreen, snacks. Prepare to be on the mountain for 3 ish hours.
We will provide: fun and reflective programming along the way, community building, songs, Shavuot teachings, smiles sandwiches, fruit, and chocolate.
